Title: Story Time
Review: Crazy story time. I’m a volunteer rescuer and bought this item to check stray dogs for a chip.Someone contacted me about the pictured pup after finding her near their house. We live in a VERY small town in SW GA. The dog was wearing a collar but her tag was blank. However, we scanned her and miracle! She has a chip…except the chip isn’t in a data base…but it’s registered to rescue…except the rescue is in Raton, NEW MEXICO!!!But wait! There’s more! We contacted the rescue today only to find out that they had her in 2019, she was vetted, and then…?????? Nothing. They have NO records after her vet visit. None. The former director was fired for his habit of giving animals away with no record keeping. What we do know:1. She’s a spayed female.2. She’s crate trained.3. She’s about 10 years old.4. She’s polite and quiet.5. She should be a medium sized girl, but…6. She’s chunky. Real chunky. Looks like she belongs at my house tbh.7. She doesn’t seem to belong to anyone anywhere near where found.8. No one has contacted animal control about her.9. Local vets office doesn’t recognize. After exhausting every lead, she was adopted and is VERY much wanted in her new home.

Title: Picks up Home Again and 24 Petwatch
Review: My rescues from 2018 to now all have a microchip from Home Again and 24 Petwatch and this was able to pickup all of their microchip numbers. It did take a few seconds to pick up of you have a pet that won’t stay still but it works as intended.

Title: Didnt work. “No tag” detected. Last week in vet office their tag reader read it.
Review: While in vet visit, the Vet picked this one as correct frequency reader to order for my cats chip that she was able to scan and read there last week. This didn’t work. Scanned in same area and tried all over.

Title: Read both my pets 15 digit chips
Review: One of the cheaper pet microchip readers and it works great. It read both of my pets 15 digit microchips. It has a rechargeable battery with a USB port. Just press the on button and wave it over your pets shoulders and it reads the chip. It won’t read the older 9 and 10 digit codes used by some microchips that operate on different frequencies. There is a another pet chip reader called Hero that has excellent reviews and reads all 9, 10 and 15 digit chips, but it’s 10x the price of this one. I was happy I could verify my pets chips and I think it was well worth the price.

Title: Only Gives Microchip # – No Memory or Upload Capability
Review: This scanner can only display the microchip number, but does not seem to store or upload any memory of previous numbers as it claims. The instructions are very short and simple, yet I cannot get anything to upload. The only instructions they provide say: “device could be charged and uploaded data by USB cable.” “Press scann button for 3s, data will be uploaded from the scanner, MAX 128 records. After uploading successfully, display as below. The data can be upload in real time if scanner is connected by USB cable when reading a tag.” (The poor spelling and grammar are actually printed this way. Photo is attached.)I could get the device to display “upload OK!” but it nothing happens on the computer (or device other than that). I’ve tried scanning a microchip while it’s connected to my computer and it just scans as usual. It does make a connection sound when I connect it and the device is on, so I know it’s connecting to my computer. But it does nothing other than the sound. While looking at my computer folder in windows, no device is shown as connected.I tried asking the question on Amazon, but the seller responded “I’m sorry, because there is no wireless mode designed, so I can only upload data to the computer via a USB cable. I’m sorry.”So obviously there seems to be a language barrier here. This didn’t answer my question at all. I wasn’t asking about anything wireless, and I already knew to use the USB cable. My question was how do I use the UBS cable to make the upload work.In conclusion, if all you want to do is read a microchip tag and retrieve it’s number, then this device will do the trick. If you care about the 128 memory slots and being able to upload them, don’t purchase this item.
