Title: Good microchip pet scanner, rechargeable and portable
Review: Dislikes: would’ve prefered a larger display size and would be nice if it also showed the pets name associated with the mc number.Other than that, excellent microchip scanner, I have numerous cats, and some have microchips from different companies, this little, portable hand-held scanner read every one of them with no problems.Display shows the microchip number only, the mc data can be saved to your computer via a USB Data connection cable.Yes, I can highly recommend this microchip scanner. Works exactly for what it was designed to do.

Title: Incomplete instructions or defective device
Review: We tried connecting to the device via wireless and bluetooth, and by connecting directly to our computer, as the description in the advertisement says the information can be uploaded to your computer. However, the instructions included are incomplete/wrong because ever attempt was unsuccessful. Also, it supposedly stored the number from the chip on the device, but there is no way to scroll through information stored on it. The device is defective or, again, the instructions are incomplete/wrong.

Title: Hit and miss at finding chips, but good when it does
Review: This is an RFID pet microchip scanner from Sharkwill. I have a bunch of cats, and I wanted to be able to make sure all their chips are readable, and I also do trap-neuter-return and I wanted to be able to scan cats I trap to see if they might belong to somebody, so I got this device. Once it was charged, I set about following the directions and scanning my crew. Some of them it scanned immediately, and worked like a charm. Some of them it did not locate a chip, even though I know they have one. One of my cats I know precisely where his chip is because he was shaved bald right after I trapped him, and I could see where it migrated, and to this day I can still feel it there. I used him as a “control” for my test, and sometimes this device finds his chip and sometimes it does not. It should be noted that my cats have chips from two different companies, both of which are listed as being supported by this device, so they should all scan, but not all of them do, and the ones that do don’t always scan consistently. When this device does find a chip, the information is accurate and correct. This scanner does everything else it says it does, I’ve had no trouble with it. If I scan a cat and a chip is found, I am 100% certain it’s right. But if I scan a cat and no chip is found, I don’t know if it’s because the device isn’t working right, the chip isn’t working right, or the cat has no chip. I’d really like to be able to trust that if it says there’s no chip, there really is no chip.

Title: Simply works
Review: It works as advertised. No unneeded bells and whistles and has worked countless times to validate MCs at my training facility to update things on our end while dogs are within our care.

Title: Pet Microchip Reader
Review: A very simple device to check if an animal has a RFID microchip. Its very simple to use, you just press the button and wave it over the neck and shoulders of the pet and it will give you a code readout. You can then check online with one of the pet microchip registries to see if the owner has current contact information. Its a small device that can easily be taken on the go on a walk or on a trip and it’s very light. If you are the type that gets involved when you see an animal in danger on its own you should check what type of RFID they use in your country and get one of these that is compatible.
