Title: Cat crystals
Review: I adopted a young male cat last September from the nearby shelter. Really nice cat but I guess his former owners didn’t want to deal with his crystal issue. and pricey food. He is doing well now and these urinalysis dip sticks help me keep track of his PH and blood presence. They are the same as the vet uses so we were able to track his improvement over the course of a year and change his food as necessary.

Title: a little hard for me to read
Review: I like that these are individually wrapped. I had ordered other test strips that once opened only lasted 90 days and I only need to test my dogs urine sporadically so I ended up having to through a lot of them away. These are a little hard to read for me. These strips test for 10 things. The “key” is on the inclosed instructions and you have to try and line up each test result pad. As for accuracy – I hope they’re accurate because they show my dogs Ph is right where it needs to be. I will order these again.

Title: Sounds easy until you try to get a urine sample to test!
Review: I really wanted to test this out on my cats and dog, but they weren’t cooperative. The cats I understand, but the dog should have been easy. Every time I tried to sneak a saucer or large, flat lid under him, he’d notice and immediately stop and act offended. I really wanted to get this review out, so I tested the only cooperative mammal I could find — myself. Please note that these test strips are not marketed as being for humans! And yet they should work the same. (Hurray – after looking up the values for humans, I seem to be healthy.)The explanations on the back of the instructions are very important! For example, your cat or dog can be perfectly healthy and have a high specific gravity of urine. When it comes to pH, the lowest and highest readings are the ones to worry about, and basically everything in between is OK. One more thing: Vets don’t usually test urine for urobilinogen, I understand.I’m glad to have this box of tests. For over-the-counter human tests that I’ve encountered, once the bottle of tests is opened, a clock starts before you have to throw all the remaining unused tests out. These tests are individually wrapped, so that won’t be a problem.And yet one problem remains — I need to get a sample from a pet! Why can’t that be easier? Please wish me luck as I continue to try!

Title: individual packaged a big plus
Review: that they are individually packaged is a big plus. not being open to air makes them last a lot longer. the only issue i had was its a bit hard to read so many different tabs ..as some are read in 10 seconds others in 15 or 20. its easier if you have 2 ppl. one to run the timer and 1 to read.

Review: Once you figure out how to collect a specimen and how long to look at each of the results, these strips are a great addition to your pet first aid. They can give you a heads up for when its time to call in the vet. If the results are negative for anything on the strip, then you can decide if the vet is needed at all, or at least you don’t need a trip to the Vet ER.

Review: Each test is sealed in its own package with a moisture controlling pillow. Also included is brief concise instruction leaflet that includes explaination of each test. READ THIS BEFORE OPENING A TEST PACKAGE! The reason I say this is, timing is very important – you have to be ready to record the results 30 seconds after dipping test stick. After doing 3 tests I have come up with some good tips to help everyone else.- COLLECTION: I was collecting with a Dixie cup. But I found that it’s easiest to use a long handled soup ladle to catch a spoonful (which is really all you need) and then pour it into a tall cup so you don’t spill it while finishing your walk and handling your dog, doors, etc.Then once in the house and ready to begin test, pour it onto something shallow so that you can easy wet all the test squares on the strip.- READING RESULTS:Do this in a well lit area, put your glasses on if you need them.There are multiple results that need to be read at 30 seconds, 1 minute, and 2 minutes. Because of this, it’s helpful to have somebody who can record your findings for you as you read them so that you can focus on finding the next one and comparing colors.If you have a scanner/printer, I highly recommend making a copy of the test interpretation guide for recording your findings on. Continue to use the original to compare the test strip two, but your assistant simply has to circle the matching box on the copy that you’ve made.Once everything’s recorded (hopefully within the time limit before the test results are no good) you can relax and move on to reading from the leaflet what each result means for your dog or cat.I send out positive thoughts to all pet parents who are using this test. May the results all indicate nothing to worry about. The peace of mind in knowing that you have a healthy happy dog or cat is priceless. If results indicate otherwise, I send out healing thoughts and hope that you book an appointment with your veterinarian ASAP.

Review: These strips for testing a pets urine, are extremely convenient. Had I had them when my dog was sick from eating something toxic, it would have at least saved me $2200 as the veterinarian did not even test his urine or feces after I told them he had ingested something toxic. They were convinced he was dying of cancer from no tests at all.I’ve had to catch my dogs urine before for another vet so I find using any type of margarine or yogurt container is helpful in doing so as this doesn’t come with one. As for accuracy, I can’t really tell yet, I’m just testing for my own knowledge of using these and being comfortable using them. In order to understand the accuracy, I would have to take him to a vet and compare the accuracy with that of the vet and it’s a visit I’m not willing to pay for at the moment because it’s an expensive vet visit BUT we do have a visit on the 22nd so I can update with complete accuracy measure.All in all I think they are super convenient to have. Not the easiest thing to use when alone but they are not complicated either. Just involves being a little precise with timing but if you have a kitchen timer or use your cell phone, with various timers set, should be easy. I just use my kitchen timer.I will update when I get my vets results back to as I’d love to know how they compare!But overall, I think it’s something every pet owner should have on them, it helps ease the mind a little and know what to ask for when going into the vet so you are blind sighted by them wanting to run every test and charge you thousands of dollars.
