This product is not discontinued by the manufacturer and requires 2 AA batteries for operation. It was first made available on August 9, 2013, by the manufacturer Pet Technology Store with the ASIN B00DS6ELEE.
The Halo Scanner stores lost pets’ chip numbers, alerts the user when a pet is missing, and is rechargeable by plugging into a PC. It is designed to read most microchips in pets, dogs, and cats, making it a valuable tool for pet identification and safety.
Overall, the Halo Scanner receives rave reviews from users for its ability to read both 10 and 15 digit microchips. Users have praised its ease of use, fast and reliable performance, and affordable price. One user even mentioned that it read a 10-year-old AVID chip accurately. However, there were a few users who noted that it did not scan certain types of chips, such as FDXA tags. Despite this, the majority of users found the Halo Scanner to be a handy and effective tool for pet identification.
